“This case is not a challenge to legislative prayers, generally; and it is not a challenge to offensive prayers, particularly,” the complaint, filed on Sunday, states. “We take no issue with the fact that the City permits many congregations to invoke Jesus before council
meetings. We just want an equal opportunity — one guaranteed by the Constitution — to invoke Satan.” It explains that the City allows its council members to select those who will pray during council meetings, but in doing so, most of the invocations presented are either Christian, Muslim or Jewish.

Southern Baptist pastors are sharply critical of Vice President Kamala Harris. Now some are taking their insults to biblical proportions. (RNS) — It didn’t take long after the inauguration of the nation’s first woman vice president for some pastors in the Southern Baptist Convention to start comparing her to the Bible’s most nefarious woman.
Two days, to be exact. On Jan. 22, Tom Buck, pastor of First Baptist Church of Lindale, Texas, equated Kamala Harris with the biblical Jezebel. “I can’t imagine any truly God-fearing Israelite who would’ve wanted their daughters to view Jezebel as an inspirational role model because she was a woman in power,” Buck tweeted.
The founding pastor of Denver's progressive House for All Sinners and Saints — part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America — apparently has such contempt for sexual purity that she had a whole bunch of purity rings melted down and turned into a vagina sculpture. She then presented the finished product to iconic left-wing feminist Gloria Steinem with a great big hug at a recent conference.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- More than 150 evangelical pastors, seminary and college professors, ministry leaders and others have signed a declaration known as the “Nashville Statement,” which affirms God’s design and intent regarding sexuality, marriage and gender identity.
The Nashville Statement, which is an initiative of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, was released on Tuesday and features 14 short proclamations, or articles, arranged in constitutional form. The statement, while pertaining to homosexuality and transgenderism, also speaks universally in regard to God’s desire that all mankind remain sexually pure until marriage and notes that the Creator distinctively designed the woman to complement the man and bear the couple’s children. It additionally addresses the requirement for faithfulness within the marital covenant, which is to mirror Christ and His bride, the Church. During the Oct. 19 debate, Trump exposed the brutal nature of late-term abortions and the extremism of pro-abortion challenger Hillary Clinton, who supports late-term and partial-birth abortions up until birth. “I think it’s terrible if you go with what Hillary is saying in the ninth month you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb of the mother just prior to the birth of the baby. Now you can say that that’s okay and Hillary can say that that’s okay, but it’s not okay with me,” Trump said. The Rev. Dr. Amy Butler responded to Trump’s comments in a column for USA Today this week, explaining why she chose a late-term abortion for her daughter.
